For this first assignment, I sought to create a bold systematic geometry of opposing angles working in tandem to convey a thick, heavy mass. The butterfly roof of the main section contributes the overall asymmetry of the form, while the shorter sloped extrusions flank either end of the frontage, generating a harmony of diverging angles of the roof lines when viewed in elevation. Each slope shares an eight degree angle, and their ascent at either end of the mass create engaging corner conditions inviting the viewer inwards, all the while shrouding what lies behind, encouraging further interaction.
