Using GIS software in tandem with personal observations and experiences of my hometown, I mapped it physically and socially. By creating a street section, estimates of average density, and observation of social aspects, I was able to conclude the unique SoCal geography, coupled with its history as a military housing hotspot, makes for a one-of-a-kind melting pot of people, adding much-needed culture and sense of identity to an otherwise stereotypical 1970s suburban planned community.
